Why Statement

The Low-Production, High-Quality Alternative

The fact is that if you’re in the market for a performance-oriented, outboard-powered center console or cat you’ve got lots of great options to choose from. So what sets Statement apart?

+ Personalized Experience

When you buy a Statement, you become a partner in the design/build process, working closely with us directly or through your dealer to spec every detail. Our goal is to build every customer exactly the boat they want. Our business model allows us to offer an experience that larger builders simply can’t.

+ Emphasis on Craftsmanship

Boat building is more craftsmanship than manufacturing, and we put a high priority on finding and keeping the best craftsmen in the business. In a business notorious for high turnover, our rigging and lamination teams have an average of 10 years with Statement.

+ Exceptional Value in Class

Performance boats aren’t cheap — not ours or anybody else’s. Our goal at Statement is simply to make sure our customers get maximum bang for their buck. We invite you to compare a Statement apples-to-apples against any boat in its class and decide for yourself where the best value is.

+ Hands-on Leadership

Statement is a small, family-owned, independent boat builder. Our hands-on owners and managers are in the shop every day, working on boats, communicating with customers, and guiding operations like purchasing. If you want to talk to the owner, just call the shop anytime during business hours.

+ Distinctive Aesthetics

At the end of the day, one of the biggest factors in your boat buying decision is personal taste. All the quality and value in the world don’t mean much if you don’t love the way a boat looks and performs. We work hard to design boats that turn heads. Do they turn yours?

If You Can Dream It, We Can Build It

Every Statement we build is a high-performance masterpiece reflecting its owner’s unique vision and style. From fully custom paint and upholstery, to a dizzying array of seating and console options, to your choice of high-end marine electronics and audio, every Statement is different.

Custom Hull and Engine Paint

We pride ourselves on flawless, one-of-a-kind paint work on hulls and outboards. Pearl and metallic finishes, one-off designs, colors from the legendary House of Kolor — we make your vision reality using state-of-the-art paints and equipment in our in-house booth.

Upholstery and Interior Finishes

It's your boat's interior that you see the most, so why not design it exactly the way you want it? Choose your upholstery colors, materials, stitching, and accents, as well as your EVA flooring colors and patterns and coordinating powder-coated pipework.

Seating and Dash Designs

With your choice of helm, bow, and aft seating configurations, aft-facing loungers, a second row behind the helm, and a forward coffin box (for starters), seating options on our 350 and 380 are nearly endless. And once you decide on seating, it's time to design your custom dash.

High-End Audio and Electronics

We specialize in top-shelf audio equipment and design. Tell us the components you want and let our rigging artists meticulously craft your dream system. Then choose your navigation displays and add radar, fishfinder, satellite radio and weather, autopilot, and more.

Fanatical Attention to Detail and Flawless Execution

At Statement, we obsess over every detail. Visit our shop and witness our quest for perfection firsthand, and you might question our sanity. Perhaps rightly so.

Still, when you own a Statement, you reap the rewards. Because on a Statement, you won't find rough edges, unfinished surfaces, imperfections in paint, or the smallest detail out of place.

Stand on your head and look under the seats. Crawl around the engine compartment or take a peek behind the dash. From bow to stern and everywhere in between, beautifully-finished surfaces and lavish details abound. That's just a small part of the big Statement difference!

A Commitment to Superior Value

At Statement, our first priority is to build boats that turn heads at the dock, make hearts race on the water, and keep doing those things reliably year after year. That means we don’t compromise anywhere in order to cut costs — not on materials, not on employees, not on processes, not on service.

Because at the end of the day, if you’re not excited about your boat, there’s no price tag low enough to make it a good value.

Instead of compromising to hit a price point, we leverage our unique strengths and business model to maximize value.

As a small, family company with a hands-on owner/operator who lives and breathes performance boating, we save millions a year on the salaries of a suite full of executives. Likewise, our low-volume model means we sell every boat we build, saving millions more on marketing. And finally, our emphasis on retaining top craftsmen yields a better product at a lower cost than the high turnover rates and untrained workers common in the industry.

The bottom line: superior value in a superior product.

A Skilled, Dedicated Team of Builders and Designers

The heart of our company is the skilled and dedicated craftsmen who build each Statement — laminating hulls, assembling fiberglass parts, rigging engines, installing electronics, shooting paint, and stitching upholstery.

Boat building is hard, hot, dirty work. Turnover in entry-level positions is notoriously high, and competition is stiff for experienced, reliable workers. At Statement, finding and keeping those workers is a top priority, and we’re proud to say that our rigging and laminations teams have been with the company for an average of 10 years.

We’re equally proud of our management team, all of whom bring extensive, direct experience in performance boating, racing, boat building, and the boating industry.

Together, we produce a product that we believe is simply unparalleled.

Unmatched Build Quality

In fiberglass boat building, quality is largely a function of things you won’t see at first glance — the way the stringer grid is bonded to the hull, for example, or how neatly and logically the console is wired. At Statement, we put just as much emphasis on the quality you can’t see as the quality you can. And that’s reflected in our longstanding reputation for building boats that stand the test of time.

Industry Leading Hull Fabrication

Statement hulls are fabricated one at a time in St. Petersburg using state-of-the-art fibers, coring materials, and resins, and a combination of vacuum infusion and hand lamination. Our high-density polyurethane stringer grid with glass-reinforced core is bonded to both the hull and the underside of the liner, creating a unibody structure for exceptional strength and rigidity.

Boutique-Quality Rigging

Every Statement is meticulously plumbed and hand-wired by the best riggers in the business. Top-quality components and strict adherence to ABYC standards and industry best practices mean rigging will stand up year after year to the demanding marine environment. And if something does need attention, our emphasis on easy access and clear labeling makes service a breeze.

Optimized Performance

Superior performance out of the box is a Statement standard feature. Our decades of experience and close working relationship with Mercury Marine and Mercury Racing mean we’ve already optimized prop selections, engine height and setback for every hull-and-power combination.

Commitment to Excellence

Our limited production model means every single Statement goes through a rigorous, carefully documented quality assurance process. Prior to delivery, each boat gets a pre-water check, a full sea trial and performance test, a post-trial report, and a final quality check and verification. All validations are performed or reviewed by company leadership.
